CJPHL nominated for Pax Christi International Peace Award

Pax Christi Toronto (Canada) wishes to nominate Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land for the Pax Christi International 2025 Peace Award.

Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land began in 2013 as part of a Canadian Ecumenical Response to the Kairos Palestine Document written by Christian leaders in Palestine in 2009.

The Steering Committee consists of both religious and lay members across Canada who have been engaged in Palestinian solidarity for many years.

Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land aims to equip, educate, and empower Catholics to engage in issues of justice and to stand in solidarity with Palestinians striving for a just peace.

Inspired by the Beatitudes and Gospel teachings of peace, justice and non-violence, and grounded in Catholic social teachings, Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land aims to become one of the leading Catholic voices advocating for justice and peace in Palestine, always listening to and raising up Palestinian voices. CJPHL members also network with ecumenical and secular Palestinian solidarity groups in Canada.

Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land is present on both Facebook and Instagram and has begun to publish a newsletter. Members write advocacy letters to church and government leaders and opinion pieces for Catholic media. CJPHL will offer a series of Webinars with leading Christian Palestinian voices in September, October and November 2025.
