CJPHL meets Palestinian Ambassador

Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are pleased to share that Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land had the opportunity to meet with the Palestinian Ambassador to Canada, Her Excellency Mona Abu Amara, at the Palestinian Mission in Ottawa.
During this meaningful exchange, we introduced the Ambassador to the work that CJPHL is doing to advocate for justice and peace in the Holy Land. We spoke candidly about the challenges we face in mobilizing support within church communities across Canada, including issues of awareness, engagement, and navigating differing perspectives.
Ambassador Abu Amara also shared important insights into the lived experiences and challenges that Palestinians face here in Canada. From under representation to the need for stronger community networks, the discussion emphasized the importance of collective action and solidarity. She also expressed the need that we continue to work in Canada, and to pressure our churches to speak out, and our government to stop arming Israel and to put a stop for the ongoing Genocide, and not to normalize it, as the west has normalized the Nakba.
The meeting was a valuable step in strengthening connections and deepening our shared commitment to justice. We are grateful for the Ambassador's time, openness, and encouragement.
Thank you for continuing to walk with us in this journey.
