IN MEMORY OF: Sr. Véronique Neault, O.Ss.R.

Annie Labrecque, O.Ss.R.

31 Mar 2026

Sister Marie Véronique Neault, O.Ss.R. passed away at the age of 51 at the Carrefour Providence infirmary in Cartierville, Montréal on March 7, 2026.

Born in Montreal on September 8, 1974, she was the daughter of Jean-Louis Neault and Pauline Breault. She entered the monastery of Sainte Thérèse on September 8, 1996. She made her temporary profession on September 8, 1999, and her solemn profession on September 8, 2002.

In 2024, she celebrated her 25th anniversary of profession. Dedicated in everything she did, she had a gift for writing and put her talents as a musician and zither player to good use in the liturgy. In 2010, she was commissioned for our foundation project in Vietnam. Gifted in languages, she devoted herself to the training of Vietnamese candidates. She also served the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer, notably by doing numerous translations, and was a member of the Service Committee for several years.

She returned from Vietnam in July 2025. In August, she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor.

On September 30, she was admitted to the Infirmerie Carrefour Providence in Cartierville, Montreal. Despite her illness, she had a great desire to return to Vietnam. May she now accompany this mission with her intercession, so that our Holy Order may spread there for a copious and abundant Redemption.

Her body lay in repose in the monastery chapel on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service was presided over by our bishop, Bishop Raymond Poisson, on Saturday, March 21, at 10:00 a.m. Burial followed at the monastery cemetery.

In addition to her community, she is survived by her parents, her brothers and sisters Guillaume (Chantal), Gilbert, Rachel (Steven), and Esther, her nieces Aurélie and Daphnée, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. In the hope of the Resurrection, please join us in prayer to accompany our Sister in this passage from death to Life.
