The Bishop Velychkovsky National Martyr’s Shrine will host a two-day celebration on June 26 and 27 in honor of the Feastday of Blessed Vasyl Velychkovsky, drawing pilgrims and faithful from across the region. This year’s theme, “Pilgrims of Hope,” aligns with the 2025 Jubilee theme, and the Shrine has been designated as a Jubilee site.

The commemorations begin on Thursday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. with Vespers followed by a Rosary Pilgrimage Procession and Anointing, led by Fr. John Sianchuk, C.Ss.R. The evening will focus on healing and restoration, marking the spiritual start of the Feastday events.

Friday, June 27 will be a full day of prayer, reflection, and celebration:

  • 9:00 a.m.: Divine Liturgy in English and Ukrainian celebrated by Fr. Sianchuk, exploring the theme of pilgrimage.

  • 10:30 a.m.: Moleben in Honour of Blessed Vasyl Velychkovsky, followed by the Blessed Vasyl Chaplet and Anointing. Fr. Yevhen Zadorozhnyi, C.Ss.R., will speak on finding hope in the signs of the times.

  • 2:00 p.m.: Acathist in Honour of Blessed Vasyl and Anointing, led by Fr. Larry Kondra, C.Ss.R., focusing on being visible signs of hope for those in need.

  • 6:30 p.m.: Divine Liturgy (English/Ukrainian) celebrated by Fr. Ivan Dzhur, C.Ss.R., followed by a Living Rosary and Anointing.

Throughout the day, confession will be available and visitors can take tours of the Bishop Velychkovsky Museum.

All services will be live-streamed via the Bishop Velychkovsky National Martyr’s Shrine YouTube and Facebook pages, making it accessible to those who cannot attend in person.
