Fr. Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. peacefully reposed in the Lord on October 15, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Home in Saskatoon after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

On June 24, two Redemptorists from the Yorkton Province in Canada celebrated their 50th Anniversary of Ordinations to the Priesthood at the historic Church of St. Mary’s in Yorkton.

Every year, we, Ukrainian Catholic Redemptorists, celebrate the Feast of Ukrainian Redemptorist Martyrs on June 27. It is the day that Pope John Paul II dedicated to their memory when he beatified them in 2001.

Apparently, this program was the first of its kind offered by the Academia Alphonsianum and it is hoped it will be offered in other locations in the coming years.

We give thanks to the good Lord for Fr. Peter’s generous service to the Church and we pray God’s choicest blessings be upon him for many more long and happy years! многая і благая літа!

On Friday March 30th, the Welcome Home Team from Winnipeg led a UKRYM Evening Retreat at Sheptytsky Institute in Saskatoon.

We wish Fr. Dmytro many more years of health and happiness in God’s service! многая і благая літа!

The Partners in Mission for the Yorkton area of the Province of Yorkton are comprised of eleven (11) laity members from Wynyard, Ituna, Regina and Yorkton and three (3) Redemptorist Fathers from Ituna and Yorkton.

Most Rev. Michael Bzdel CSsR, Ukrainian Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Winnipeg, fell asleep in the Lord at his residence late Tuesday evening, 3 April 2012, at the age of 81.

Fr. Ihor Kolisnyk, C.Ss.R. and Fr. Charles Duval, C.Ss.R. preached parish missions this Lenten Season in Winnipeg and Saskatoon.

Once again the Redemptorists put on another successful Table for Two. Table for Two is an event put on every year by the Redemptorists for newly married or engaged couples.

For me this experience was one that truly challenged me to come out of my comfort zone, put my trust completely in God and experience being part of a community of The Welcome Home that has opened its heart and arms to embrace and live Christ’s call to serve the poor and to be one with the Father and each other.

St. Mary’s Parish, Yorkton, SK, celebrated its annual Pilgrimage, June 23 – 26, 2011. Fr. Larry Kondra, C.Ss.R. was the guest missionary.

During the full day celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Beatification of the Ukrainian Catholic Martyrs, pilgrims approach to venerate the 1st class relics of Blessed Nicholas Charnetsky and Blessed Vasyl Velychkosky and also to be anointed with holy oil of Blessed Vasyl.

Redemptorist Superior General Michael Brehl recently appointed coordinators for the five regional conferences that were created by the last General Chapter in Rome in 2009. Father John Kingsbury, pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Annapolis, MD, was named coordinator for the North American Conference.

This was very much a fraternal visit from our General Council in Rome and we were truly blessed to have these wonderful Redemptorists among us.
