Here is a fast look at the latest events that took place across the ministries, communities, and houses of the Redemptorists in Canada.

“Come and See” Weekend Retreat in Montréal

God is at work! From May 23-25, 2025, three young men from Ottawa and Montreal joined us in prayer and discernment, to learn more about Saint Alphonsus and the Redemptorist mission in Canada. On Sunday, May 25, we joined the parish community of St. Jude for mass and fellowship. Please keep these young men in your prayers as they continue their journey of discernment.

Graduation Mass in Yellowknife

High School students from the École St. Patrick attended their Graduation Mass at the St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral in Yellowknife on May 23. The presider was Father Mick Fleming, C.Ss.R., who provided a beautiful homily on being the “Salt and Light of Christ” for the future. The readings were read in the Willideh Yati, Inuktitut, French and English languages.

First Communion and Confirmations in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, Elsipogtog and Rexton

Redemptorist parishes in New Brunswick celebrated several sacraments this spring. At the Elsipogtog Pastoral Unit, led by Fr. Bernard Gauthier, C.Ss.R., 30 kids made their First Communion and 16 received Confirmation from Archbishop Guy Desrochers, C.Ss.R., on May 17. The next day, five more children received their First Communion at Our Lady of Hope, also under Fr. Gauthier’s care. Meanwhile, at the Mary, Star of the Sea Pastoral Unit, moderated by Fr. Jean Belisle, C.Ss.R., 21 children received their First Communion and 17 received Confirmation from Archbishop-Emeritus André Richard, C.S.C. on May 18. Congratulations to everyone and May God bless all of you!
