A New Director for Ignite Ministry

CSSR Secretariat

21 juil. 2025

Annette Donovan Panchaud is the new Director of Ignite Ministry, bringing with her over 35 years of ministry experience shaped by a deep commitment to young people, justice, and spiritual growth.

Annette’s journey began as a high school chaplain and continued as a family life minister at a United Church in Toronto. In the Archdiocese of Vancouver, she served as a parish youth ministry coordinator and earned a Certificate in Youth Ministry. Over the years, she has led parish missions, high school retreats, and diocesan youth conferences, always with a passion for walking alongside young people as they discover their voice and vocation in the Church and in the world. Most recently, Annette retired after nearly 17 years as Campus Minister at King’s University College in London, Ontario. Her time working with university students reaffirmed her belief in the transformative power of justice work and faith.

Outside of her ministry work, Annette is most often found in her garden or kitchen. She views every flower, squash, and tomato as a sign of God’s abundant love for us and believes in sharing those gifts with others. Her interests in food security, care for creation, and Catholic identity have inspired her to pursue a Doctor of Ministry at the Toronto School of Theology, where she is currently preparing for comprehensive exams.

Annette is especially eager to reconnect with the Redemptorist community through her work with Ignite. As a Master of Divinity student over 35 years ago, she lived near Redeemer House and felt a strong sense of community there, often sharing meals, prayers, and conversations with Redemptorists, scholastics, and fellow students. These formative gatherings greatly shaped her understanding of God and ministry. She feels joyful and grateful to be “coming home” to serve with the Redemptorists and continue their work of fostering faith, community, and justice.
